ABOUT
 
Emotions are landscapes. They are vistas beyond ordinary description- this is why we tend explain them in terms of how they feel, not in terms of how they look. They can be obvious and beautiful. Sometimes they are stark and nondescript, like a horizon being punished by too much heat.
 
This book, d e s o l a t e, populates those worlds in the best way I know how: through imagery. Art takes the nondescript, the amorphous, the blurry and out-of-focus, and shapes it into something real. As with most of my other art books, I make every effort to give a face to the indescribable, if only to make sense of these far off places inside of me- inside of us all. My hope is that you'll see something relatable within the pages of d e s o  l a t e.
