Atrament Apparel is an offshoot of Atrament Studios, LLC. Founded in 2010, Atrament Studios is the artwork and design of me, Brandon Stewart. In early 2020, I decided to start an apparel company as a result of the CoronaVirus Pandemic. Artists of all types were hit very hard by this, as most unable to do art shows or conventions due to shutdown, myself included. Opening this Atrament Apparel shop was my response.
As the catalogue of apparel grows, my hope is to create a sense of the things that are important to me: compassion, art, science, progress... we, all of us, are nothing without each other, the planet, and ways to communicate those truths.
HOW AND WHERE IT'S MADE
Atrament Apparel is printed in these ways:
SUBLIMATION PRINTING: Graphics are printed onto sublimation paper using specialty inks. Fabric is placed between two sheets of sublimation paper and goes through a heat press. The heat then transforms the sublimation ink into a gas that gets absorbed into the fabric.
DIRECT TO GARMENT (DTG) PRINTING: DTG (direct-to-garment) printing is like using a regular printer, but on t-shirts. Designs are printed directly onto the garment and absorb into the fabric.
Atrament Apparel's items are manufactured in the United States, Europe, and Mexico. Being made and fulfilled in different places means shipping costs can be lower and shipping times can be faster.
